The Barmaid

"The Barmaid" is an expansion on a conversation from the Valmai novel, wherein a few of the characters talked about Emlyn's reputation (and, by extension, Valmai and Wynn's) for trouble. I wrote it mainly for the practice in writing action sequences. (more)

Who is Valmai?

Valmai Hammerhand is the main character (and narrator) of my first novel, which I started writing in September of 2004, finished in October of 2005, and have been meaning to rewrite ever since. (more)

Sonnet for a Superheroine

I wrote "Sonnet for a Superheroine" as a birthday present for my dear friend Karen, in August 2006. It doesn't scan very well, but there are swearwords in it, so maybe it's "edgy" rather than simply a bad sonnet. (more)
